BrainXell was founded in 2015 by Prof. Su-Chun Zhang in conjunction with the Discovery to Product (D2P) program of University of Wisconsin- Madison and operates out of a new facility in University Research Park. The company is based on the proprietary technology of directed differentiation of human stem cells (including induced pluripotent stem cells) to highly enriched subclasses of neurons.
