Alkern is the French leading manufacturer of prefabricated concrete elements for building (blocks), public works (manholes, curbs) and outdoor development (paving stones, slabs) markets. Based in Harnes, in the North of France, the company operates out of around fifty sites in France and Belgium. A former subsidiary of Tarmac Plc in France, Alkern has maintained its high operational standards at the top of French competition. Alkern has also pursued an ambitious plan for external growth with 13 acquisitions made between 2010 and 2014, allowing it to grow substantially despite an unfavourable market environment.
