The company was founded by members of the Apjohn Group, LLC, a business accelerator that brings together valuable resources of management talent and angel/seed financing. Armune's technology is based on research performed at the University of Michigan under Dr. Arul Chinnaiyan's direction and published in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM 2005; 353:1224-1235), and the work done and published by Dr. David Beer, also at the University of Michigan (Cancer Res 2007;67(7):3461–7). Armune has secured an exclusive license from the University of Michigan for this technology.
