About Calcivis
Calcivis is a privately owned and funded Company established in 2012 and based in Edinburgh, Scotland. The Company was set up in order to develop and commercialise a new technology aimed at a significant unmet need in dentistry. The technology was co-invented by the University of Dundee and another Scottish SME, LUX Innovate. In August 2012 Calcivis completed a £1.2m fundraising led by Archangels Informal Investment and acquired the technology and all associated intellectual property from the University and LUX. Calcivis and the management team are based at the Edinburgh BioQuarter in the south of the City adjacent to the Edinburgh Royal Infirmary. The Company operates a virtual development model working with a range of contract research and manufacturing organisations predominantly also based in Scotland.
