Canada’s Building Trades Unions serves as the national voice for over 600,000 Canadian construction and maintenance workers who belong to 14 international unions and operate in more than 60 trades. It represents these workers in advocacy on labour mobility, taxation, immigration, employment insurance, and the green-economy transition issues. The organization supports workforce development by investing more than $300 million annually in training centres across Canada and promoting lifelong apprenticeships. It also collaborates with provincial and local councils to enhance conditions and training standards nationwide.
