China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. was founded on September 29, 2002, China Yangtze Power Co., Ltd. (“CYPC”) is a limited liability company initiated by China Three Gorges Corporation (“CTG”) and approved by the State Council. In November 2003, the company was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange with an IPO of 2.326 billion shares (stock code: 600900). CYPC’s main businesses include hydropower generation, power distribution and sales, overseas power plants operation and management, consulting services, investment and financing. The company has expanded its presence to several foreign nations, including Germany, Portugal, Brazil and Malaysia. CYPC now fully owns the power generation assets of Three Gorges, Gezhouba, Xiluodu and Xiangjiaba HPPs. Currently the company has 82 hydropower generating units, including 58 giant units with an unit capacity being 700 MW or above, making up more than half of all the same capacity-grade hydropower units in the whole world. With a total installed capacity of 45.495 GW, the company is the largest listed electric power company in China and the largest listed hydropower company globally.
