EEW Energy from Waste already significantly contributes to the protection of our climate and resources. The 37 modern plants at 19 locations within our corporate group energetically recycle approximately five million tons of waste each year, with environmentally friendly disposal. We efficiently utilise energy contained within waste and generate process steam for industrial companies, district heating for residential areas and environmentally compatible electricity for approximately 500,000 households. Even waste coming from combusted waste – primarily in the form of slag – is used for road construction among other applications. Taking the lead for us means achieving excellence today and becoming better in the future. We work together with 1,300 highly qualified and committed employees towards continuously improving the environmentally protective processes and efficiency of our systems. Cooperative research projects conducted together with universities also promote development with an eye to the future.
