Fairfax Partners provides strategic and financial advice and analysis to corporations and investors and has managed private equity partnerships since 1989. Drawing upon its expertise in a number of industry sectors, Fairfax is able both to provide advice and to invest capital in those situations where its understanding of underlying industry dynamics and regulation creates opportunities for enhancing shareholder value. Since its inception, Fairfax and its investors have started more than 15 companies and invested in nearly 40 private equity investments. During this period Fairfax Partners and its clients and associates have invested in both leveraged buyout acquisition-oriented deals as well as more traditional early stage investment opportunities. The firm has had its greatest successes acquiring, and then building upon, platform acquisitions in industries that are facing major structural change.Located in Washington, D.C., Fairfax has the ability and expertise to work with its investors and clients in successfully navigating complex regulatory issues. At a time of increasing government involvement and influence in a broad range of industries, Fairfax advises clients and seeks investments in industries that can be transformed through the successful execution of a sophisticated regulatory strategy. Fairfax works through two primary vehicles: Fairfax Partners, LLC, our advisory and general investments arm, and Fairfax Media Partners, LLC, which has been established to invest in assets in the media, telecoms and internet sectors. Drawing upon its partners’ extensive industry expertise, together with their operating, financial and regulatory knowledge, the group works with existing owners and management teams in identifying opportunities for cash generation and value maximization in response to and in anticipation of regulatory and technological change.
