About Gaia Membranes
Gaia Membranes is a recent spin-off from the Paul Scherrer Institute. With their technology they enable affordable energy storage to support the transition to a fully renewable energy system. Their innovative technology overcomes limitations of traditional anion and cation exchange membranes, lowering the levelised cost of storage with vanadium flow batteries. The gAM-40 membrane is based on proprietary IP developed by their CTO Fabio at the Paul Scherrer Institute. He worked under the guidance of Lorenz Gubler whose group has over 15 years of experience developing membranes for electrochemical applications.
