Global Education & Technology Group, Ltd. is a test preparation services provider for the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and a provider of educational courses and related services in China. The company provides test preparation services for IELTS on a nationwide basis in China. As of June 30, 2010, its learning center network consisted of 66 directly operated and 226 franchised learning centers; including 118 Global test preparation learning centers, 69 of which are franchised in 59 cities. Founded in 2001, Global Education obtained hundreds of millions of funding from SAIF Investment in September 2006. It went public on the New York Stock Exchange on October 8, 2010. In December 2011, Global Education merged with Pearson.
