A high-ranking school, Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, offers an education that is governed by the Catholic philosophy of cura personalis, which translates as education of the whole person. Students do more than just read books and write papers. They engage in creative activities, contemplation and recreation, examine the relationships between science and art, and participate in social and religious activities. Admissions require SAT or ACT scores, transcripts and a letter of recommendation along with the application, which has a fee. Those who cannot afford the application fee may ask for a fee waiver. Those with a GPA below 3.1 or who have an SAT score below 1070 will need to have an interview as well.
