About Instituto Universitario Aeronáutico
IUA provides university education, conduct scientific and technological research and cultural extension and technology transfer actions. IUA is an agency dependent on the Argentine Air Force, was created under the name of Higher School of Aerotechnics on December 13, 1947, then changing its name to the School of Aeronautical Engineering, joining the National University System in 1971 (Decree No. . 3179/71) Its current denomination was approved by Resolution No. 3/93 of the Ministry of Culture and Education, where it is categorized as a University Institute, and by Law 24,521 it integrates the set of National University Institutions. The purpose of the IUA is to provide university education, conduct scientific and technological research and cultural extension and technology transfer actions, in order to contribute to the fulfillment of the FAA's mission, in a whole in accordance with the Nation's aerospace interests. The incorporation of the Distance Education modality in 1987, gives it a new profile by bringing the university closer to the most remote places of the Argentine geography.
