About Magdalen College
The College of Saint Mary Magdalen in Warner, New Hampshire, offers a classical education in a Catholic context. Academics are rigorous, comprehensive and equally balanced with spiritual and religious pursuits. Students undertake the “Great Books” curriculum, which explores classical Greek and Latin literature, Renaissance literature, ancient to modern history, classical philosophical texts and more. Religious texts from different eras are also an integral part of the Great Books curriculum. While all programs are interdisciplinary to some degree, students do choose a concentration within this comprehensive curriculum. Students may concentrate in: * Literature * Philosophy * Political Philosophy * Theology Student life includes such spiritual and religious activities as: * Masses * Church choir performances * Prayer services Admissions requirements include two academic recommendations, ACT or SAT scores and a critical essay. Applicants will also need to submit transcripts. Those who complete the admissions application online do not have to pay the application fee. The school also offers merit scholarships. The school’s Presidential Scholarships requires an additional essay and either a minimum SAT score of 1800 or an ACT score of at least 26. They also offer talent scholarships to those who exhibit talent in music, visual arts and writing. Other types of financial aid include need-based scholarships, grants and work-study awards. Students may also apply for private loans.
