One of the company’s products, The Metaphor Machine, was one of the first commercial workstations to offer a complete hardware and software package, and a GUI. Metaphor Computer Systems was founded by David E. Liddle and Yogen Dalal in 1982. As of October 3, 1991, Metaphor Computer Systems was acquired by International Business Machines Corp, an American company that develops decision support software.
