About NEG8 Carbon
NEG8 Carbon (formerly Trinity Green Energies) is a spin-out from research conducted at Trinity College, Dublin and UCD. It was founded in 2014 and moved to Waterford in 2021 to commercialize the technology. NEG8's technology utilizes an electrostatic method to create thin, active layers of sorbents, enabling efficient capture and release of COΓéé molecules for permanent storage or utilization in climate-neutral products. This will help businesses to reduce their carbon footprint and meet their net-zero targets. The company holds international patents in the area of carbon capture. The company is funded by private investors and participates in publicly funded research programmes. NEG8 Carbon is an innovation partner within the SFI-funded AMBER Centre for research into new materials and nanotechnology.
