About New Mexico State University
The main campus of New Mexico State University (NMSU) is located in Las Cruces and includes art galleries, a golf course, museums, and public radio and television stations. Bachelor’s, master’s and doctorate degrees are offered in a multitude of fascinating disciplines, including Aerospace Engineering, Agricultural Economics, Fashion Merchandising, Turfgrass Science, and more. The school is one of NASA’s Space Grant Colleges due to its commitment and competence in fields of aeronautics and outer space. NMSU is also a Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI), and has an Honors College for those striving for academic excellence. NMSU aims to stay on the forefront of research activities. One such research project was put together by the College of Engineering in order to demonstrate to local farmers and ranchers how to use alternative energy such as solar-powered water pumps for their agricultural needs. NMSU wants education to be accessible, so it provides financial aid options to those who qualify. It also encourages students to stay healthy by offering regular health screenings at its health center as well as access to the campus pool and stay-fit activities like yoga and cardio kickboxing.
