About Pennsylvania Highlands Community College
Pennsylvania Highlands Community College in Richland, Pennsylvania offers professional and academic degrees and certificates, as well as an extensive support program to help get students academically prepared for college. Intended for those who wish to get a bachelor’s degree, the transfer programs at Pennsylvania Highlands include majors in Accounting, Business Administration, Communications, General Studies and Teacher Education. Culinary Arts, Medical Assisting, Pharmacy Technology and Welding are some of the subjects available for study in the career-oriented degree and certificate programs. Since many students who come to community college may have been out of school for a while Pennsylvania Highlands has a comprehensive skills-refresher course, where students review basic math, reading and writing. Once students are established in their program, they may get additional academic and personal support through the Student Service Center, which hosts academic workshops and provides tutoring, advising and personal counseling. Pennsylvania Highlands has an open and rolling admissions policy. While Pennsylvania residents pay a significantly lower tuition, financial aid may also be awarded to students who meet the requirements.
