About Plantvoice
Plantvoice is a biosensor, the size of a toothpick, which, by insertion inside the stem of the plant, allows real-time analysis of the sap. Plantvoice is biocompatible and identifies in real time variations in sap salinity, which are correlated with plant stress situations. Each type of stress is identifiable: water stress, biotic stress (bacteria or fungi), abiotic stress (chemicals or salts in the soil). Plantvoice detects direct data regarding the phytology of the plant and this allows for the timely detection (after just a few hours) of anomalies in the state of health of the plant. The latency of standard sensors available on the market is minimized. Plantvoice satisfies two main needs: 1. preserving the health of crops with high added value (vines, olive trees, etc.) or high productivity; 2. optimize water use to limit costs for companies and to allow water to remain available even in areas where it is often scarce. Furthermore, plantvoice has a cloud platform that can integrate all the data from other installed smart farming sensors. This allows us to eliminate the fragmentation of the data collection of the instrumentation described above, which turns out to be a problem that has a major impact on the usability of these technologies. In addition to this, the farmer often equips himself with many sensors, many of which are superimposable as outputs provided. The Plantvoice team is composed by Matteo Beccatelli, a chemist and the inventor of Plantvoice, a groundbreaking technology enabling plant-to-farmer communication through chemical signals. His pioneering work forms the project's foundation, promising to revolutionize agriculture. Tommaso Beccatelli, an additive manufacturing specialist, designs and produces crucial hardware components through 3D printing. Prof. Tommaso Ganino, an agronomist at the University of Parma, offers invaluable expertise, bridging scientific research and practical application. He contributes a solid understanding of the agricultural sector. Giovanni Collinetti, a communications expert, is responsible for conveying Plantvoice's message to the world. His strategic communication skills and media relationships ensure the innovation reaches the right audience. Massimo Ferri, a computer engineer specializing in artificial intelligence and data analysis allows efficient interpretation of plant chemical signals. Lastly Pierluigi Lodi Rizzini, an IP lawyer, who safeguards the team's innovations through legal protection.
