About Prediction Dynamics
Prediction Dynamics was founded in June 2000 by a group of computational finance academics, software company executives and investment professionals. The founders recognized that existing quantitative technologies only exploited a finite proportion of the total available universe of trading opportunities. Parametric and linear technologies operated around the mean of the distribution of financial returns and generally ignored the alarming frequency of extreme movements in modern financial markets. To address this and gain access to full universe of trading opportunities, the founders set out to develop a new nonparametric modeling methodology. However, to achieve this some major technical challenges had to be overcome, which included developing a genuinely stable nonparametric algorithm that produced models that could be easily understood and deployed by users. Three years later, robust solutions to these problems have been implemented in their flagship product Crucible. Their customers, which include some the world's leading investment banks and hedge funds, are now trading successfully with the system and reaping the benefits of a larger universe of trading opportunities. Prediction Dynamics was originally funded by one of Europe's leading institutional venture capital firms, ACT Venture Capital. They are headquartered in Dublin, Ireland and have a sales office in New York.
