About Responsible Business Alliance (RBA)
The work of the Responsible Business Alliance Foundation to make a positive, lasting impact in the labor market in Malaysia supports their overarching goal of advancing dignity in work across global supply chains.The RBA has worked over the past decade to promote responsible sourcing practices in global electronics supply chains, offering a social audit standard, training and resources to improve social accountability. RBA’s research indicates that labor agent ethical maturity and the education and empowerment of migrant workers in Malaysia are critical leverage points to address along the recruitment journey to reduce worker exploitation. In addition to setting and holding members accountable to core standards and providing training and assessment tools, it regularly engages in dialogue and collaborations with workers, governments, civil society, investors, and academia to gather the necessary range of perspectives and expertise to support and drive its members. Currently the Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition is comprised of nearly 100 electronics companies with combined annual revenue of nearly $2.6 trillion, directly employing over 5.5 million people The Electronic Industry Citizenship Coalition was founded in 2004 and is based in Alexandria, Virginia.
