About Southern Adventist University
Naturally beautiful surroundings, an active spiritual community, a lively arts culture and a selection of uncommon majors are some of Southern Adventist University’s most outstanding features. Ranked by U.S. News and World Report as a top regional university, Southern Adventist is situated along the edge of the beautiful Smoky Mountains in Collegedale, Tennessee. Archaeology is one of Southern Adventist’s most exciting academic contributions. Offering a bachelor’s degree in the field, Southern Adventist sponsors excavations and houses the Lynn H. Wood Archaeological Museum. Academics at Southern Adventist also encompass such disciplines as Allied Health, Music, Visual Arts, Communications and the natural sciences at the undergraduate level. Fields of study offered both at the undergraduate and graduate levels include Business, Education, Religion and Social Work. Spirituality has a major presence both on and off campus. The school is home to more than 20 student ministries, and locally there are more than 25 Christian churches. Home to a recognized classical music station and numerous performing arts groups, the Southern Adventist campus offers artistic stimulation as well. SAT or ACT scores and transcripts should be submitted by prospective freshmen. In order to help offset tuition costs, students may apply for scholarships and other forms of financial aid and see if they qualify.
