About Specify
Specify helps companies manage their brand identity, by collecting, storing, and distributing their design tokens and assets ’ automatically. Specify was founded in Paris (France) in 2018 by Valentin Chrétien, Pierre-Antoine Lemaître, Antoine Moreaux, and Louis Chenais. Formerly designers, product managers, and developers, these 4 co-founders decided to create Specify in order to revolutionize the way to maintain a brand's identity through different digital products. After 2 years of bootstrapping, and more than 1,000 international teams onboarded, Specify raises a $1m pre-seed with 360 Capital, BPI Seed Ventures, and Seedcamp. A few months later, Specify positions itself as the category leader for DesignOps and Design Systems by being the first Design Data Platform. In parallel, Specify is a member of the DTCG (Design Tokens Community Group) whose goal is to provide standards upon which products and design tools can rely for sharing stylistic pieces of a design system at scale.
