About Trailer Dynamics
Trailer Dynamics GmbH is a technology innovator for heavy commercial vehicles, focused on increasing efficiency and reducing emissions in long-haul freight. Founded in 2018 by physicist Abdullah Jaber and entrepreneur Michael W. Nimtsch, the company is headquartered in Eschweiler, Germany, near Aachen. ∩┐╝ Its core product is the eTrailer, a semi-trailer with its own battery-electric powertrain that supports the tractor unit regardless of whether the truck is diesel, battery-electric, gas or fuel-cell powered. ∩┐╝ The eTrailer replaces a conventional free-rolling axle with an electrified axle and uses a real-time control system to synchronize the trailer’s propulsion with any standard tractor. This reduces fuel consumption of conventional diesel combinations by around 40% and, in combination with battery-electric tractors, can extend range from roughly 400 km to about 700 km, enabling zero-emission long-haul use cases with fewer charging stops. ∩┐╝ Trailer Dynamics works with leading industry partners including Krone and major logistics providers to validate and scale the technology in real-world operations. ∩┐╝ In 2025, the company secured a €25 million loan from the European Investment Bank under the EU’s InvestEU program to accelerate industrialization, production ramp-up, and market rollout of its eTrailer platform across Europe. ∩┐╝ With a multidisciplinary team of around 70 engineers, software developers and domain experts, Trailer Dynamics aims to make the eTrailer a scalable lever for the decarbonization of road freight and the transition to more sustainable logistics.
