About United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change
UNFCCC is an international multilateral environmental agreement that is focused on the greenhouse gas emissions. It has near universal membership and is also known as the parent treaty of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol. UNFCCC has 196 parties and 192 of those parties have approved the Kyoto Protocol. The objective of UNFCCC is to stabilize greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous human interference with the climate system.
