The Wharton County Junior College in Wharton, Texas, is the college’s main campus, serving students from Fort Bend, Colorado and Jackson counties through its easily transferrable academics, career service programs and enriching college life opportunities. A wide variety of programs are available at the Wharton campus. From one-year certificate programs to associate’s degrees, there is a program that caters to your professional interests. Some of the many areas of study include: * Agriculture * Computer Science * Nuclear Power Technology * Physical Therapist Assistant * Computer Aided Drafting The Wharton campus maintains transfer agreements with more than 20 colleges and universities in Texas, like Texas State University, University of Houston, Angelo State University and Texas Southern University. If you plan on transferring outside of Texas, Wharton’s expert career services department will work with you to arrange transfers to your school of choice. In addition, the department offers plenty of professional development opportunities, from resume help and interview skill-building seminars to academic advising and personal tutoring, Wharton is there to help you succeed. You can join one of Wharton’s many student organizations to enhance your college life. Whether you want to gain leadership skills by joining the Student Government Association, explore your recreational interests in the Jazz Club or Pioneer Aggie Rodeo Club or meet other professionals in your field through academic groups like the Dental Hygiene Club, you will be able to find your niche. If you are interested in applying to Wharton, you must have earned a high school diploma or GED and completed the COMPASS or Quick THEA assessment exam. If you have taken the ACT or SAT, you may be exempt from taking an entrance test. Please contact Wharton’s admissions department for more information. If you are a student from Wharton County or elsewhere in Texas, you will receive reduced rate tuition. All students may apply for Wharton financial aid by filing a FAFSA.
